[APH] the broken Girl (Greenland - Denmark)

_{so continuing the colony-colonizer which is none other than Denmark and Greenland, now the lyrics are based on 'Broken Girl' by Matthew West which I felt describe Greenland's history with Denmark the most, the perspective was very hard to choose from honestly but I think it best would fit Iceland or Faroe Islands since those 2 also were colonies of Denmark after the treaty of Keil.}

_{okay, so what was the relations with Denmark-Greenland like? well-.}

_{out of any colony Denmark had, Greenland was treated by far the worse, coming from not the view of the European colonist but infact a Greenlandic Inuit, Hunter and oral Artist Aron Far Kangeq who told a much different strory throught pictures. Not only telling the legends and myths of the Inuit culture but also the interactions with the Europeans and Inuits. Much of the stories were very dark and gruesome, dealing with many subjects of rape, murder, burning villages and freedom taken from the Greenlanders by the Danes, even Christianity was told very harshly by the Danes as well.}

_{Through much of Greenland’s history, the country was very much isolated from the rest of the world up until WWII where Denmark’s relations with Greenland were cut but regain in 1945. In the 1950’s there was a social experiment by the Danes that set up Human Experiment which 22 Greenlandic Inuit Children were sent to Denmark for education and to help with the Greenlandic political system which was a complete failure which in 2009 it was brought back up to be discussed where the Greenlanders wanted an official apology which Denmark never comply to ( A Film was made based on this as well . )}

_{Greenland had joined the EU in 1973 along with Denmark which 6 yeas later trouble came, due to much over fishing and Greenland had to get out and soon ask for Denmark for independence but home rule was given instead which Greenland left the EU in 1985.}

_{Today the relation between Denmark and Greenland is quite a complicated one, many of Den’s history with Greenland is mostly questionable and even today many Greenlanders still are trying to work for the independence that they want.}

_{Okay so Now that we got a lot of that cover, it’s time to talk about APH for this and how I see always view the relationship between Mathias and Qila. Just to warn this is how I view them and I really will respect if you will not be upset with my portrayals of this relation.}

_{Anyway for me, I always see that the relationship between Qila and Mathias as just pure issues and much to say the 2 can have trouble, like a lot of miscommunication and different point of views, the 2 won’t get along very well along with also the 2 view things very differently, along with them not having very much in common or even feeling they could relate to each other much. The 2 are just complete opposites of one another that, infact they rarely know each other even for being a colony-colonizer relationship for 300 years.}

_{From Qila’s perspective of the whole relationship, she doesn’t want much to do with Mathias or feeling she could do anything without there being arguing so she tends to avoid him when it’s personal life (business –wise she can stand and tolerate him, not letting emotion getting the better of him.) She really doesn’t want anything to do with him and just wants to be independent from Denmark now days. She also blames him for ruining her life and just screwing her over, pretty much in a way…he ‘broke’ her, in a sense.}

_{From Mathias’s perspective however, as it may surprise you… He actually didn’t realize what he did to Qila was wrong, feeling he was doing the right thing for her you know being ‘big brother’ that he believe he was? But of course he realize a lot later he screw up badly and honestly feels…horrible and knows that this is one of the only times where he’s not very proud of his Viking history, he doesn’t want to harm the other any further. Infact, Mathias doesn’t even bother with Qila as much as people believe, he actually leaves her alone unless business reasons. ( Based on This )}

_{I really think this relationship is the most interesting and complex of any, I really can tell that they wouldn’t be lovers or siblings or hate each other to a point where they want to kill each other, it was just A LOT of miscommunication, misunderstanding each other, different cultures clashing together and harm to one nation which the other wants to forgive and pretty much, it’s a relation that people are not looking much into! I really get uncomfortable by this relation when it becomes romantic, like VERY uncomfortable so please as I say, this is how I portray there relation.}
